Master non-surgical orthopedics — and stop deferring to the OR by default
Alignara Health College's Functional Orthopedics programme gives licensed clinicians a rigorous, evidence-based framework to assess root-cause biomechanical faults, design individualized rehabilitation protocols, and confidently manage the full spectrum of musculoskeletal conditions — without reflexively reaching for a surgical referral.

"My job isn't to hand you protocols — it's to give you the clinical architecture to reason your way through any musculoskeletal presentation, every time."
— Anthony Osagie, PhD, DFM, FMACP, FWACS

Alignara Functional Orthopedics is one of two advanced clinical programmes within Alignara Health College — the other being Alignara Functional Wellness Coach. Both programmes share the same institutional commitment: building clinicians who reason from first principles, work from evidence, and deliver care that is defensible, patient-centered, and durable. If you are enrolled in or considering the Wellness Coach programme, you will find that the two curricula complement each other directly — the functional and systems-based thinking developed there deepens the clinical reasoning you will apply here.
If you are reading this, you already have clinical training behind you — and you have probably sat in a room with a patient who needed conservative management but received a surgical referral instead, because nobody in that chain had the framework, the confidence, or the communication skills to argue otherwise. That moment — the gap between what is surgically possible and what is clinically necessary — is exactly what Alignara Functional Orthopedics was built to close.
I designed this curriculum for practitioners who are done with surface-level continuing education. You don't need another isolated technique module or a lecture that recaps anatomy you already know. What you need is a coherent clinical system: one that starts at root-cause biomechanical assessment, runs through imaging interpretation and condition-specific management, and lands at evidence-based outcome tracking — with the reasoning intact at every step. That is what I have tried to build here, organized the way I think clinically and the way I believe you think too.
The curriculum covers territory that orthopedic clinicians genuinely find difficult: distinguishing a clinically meaningful imaging finding from an incidental degenerative change, designing a load-based tendinopathy protocol that actually progresses, knowing when joint mobilization is indicated versus when neuromuscular re-education should lead, and — perhaps most practically — having the conversation with a patient who has been told they "need" surgery and helping them understand why that may not be true. None of that is easy, and none of it is covered adequately in most entry-level training. It belongs in advanced clinical practice, which is where you are.
I want to be straightforward with you about one thing: this is not a passive course. The material is dense, the cases are real, and the frameworks require active clinical integration. If you engage seriously, you will come away with a more systematic, more defensible, and more effective approach to non-surgical orthopedic care. If you treat it as background noise, you will get background-noise results. I respect your clinical intelligence enough to say that plainly.
Come in ready to work. I will meet you there with everything I know.
